Lavender is a certified permaculture designer dedicated to rehabilitating agriculturally depleted lands through sustainable permaculture practices while advocating for the conservation of captive-bred reptile species and their natural habitats. When not immersed in reptiles, she enjoys dancing, traveling, and stargazing with her partner, Morgan.

She has fostered a deep connection with animals throughout her life. Over the years, she has cared for a variety of pets, including cats, dogs, rabbits, chickens, hamsters, guinea pigs, rats, mice, and even exotic species such as lynxes, sugar gliders, and hermit crabs. Among her experiences, she has nurtured numerous reptiles, including her childhood pet "Henrietta," a cherished rescued Western Box Turtle, along with several red-eared sliders, ball pythons, geckos, and Plains Hognose Snakes. Additionally, she has contributed to the care of desert tortoises and monitors at The Living Desert. Her home has served as a sanctuary for various stray animals, instilling in her a profound sense of compassion and responsibility for all living beings, particularly those that are often overlooked.

In 2021, Lavender was diagnosed with breast cancer and underwent a challenging recovery process. During her healing journey, she rekindled her interest in animal training and reptiles, joining Reptelligence to learn from renowned experts Carrie Davis and Peter Amelia. She is actively enhancing her understanding of animal behavior and is pursuing her animal training certification, with a focus on reptiles, while enrolled in the Master Herpetologist Program through the Amphibian Foundation.
